Weston Firemen's Annual Independence Day Celebration
- July 3 & 4, 2008 at the Robert Bland Middle School
in Weston, WV
Directions: I-79 to Exit 99, go west on US Rt. 33 into Weston,
the School will be on right side of the road about three miles from
the exit. Celebrate the birth of our nation with one of the biggest
fireworks displays in West Virginia. This family festival includes
activities, food and entertainment for all ages. See you there.

2nd Annual Spiker Bullride - July 26th 2008
Parcs Equipment superstore presenting. Gates open 6:00 and performance
begins at 7:30. Along with heart-pounding bullriding action there
will be sheep riding for the first 25 kids to sign up, and a mechanical
bull for all ages. Concession available along with fresh roasted
sweet corn. There will be limited bleacher space with hillside seating.
(bring blanket or lawn chair). The bullride will take place between
Jackson's Mill and Jane Lew off of Sycamore Lick Rd. Advance tickets
sold at Southern States in Weston. Adult $10 Children $5, 3yrs and
under free. At the gate $12 Adult $6 children. Sponsered in part

2008 Stonewall Jackson Triathlon - July 27, 2008
at the Stonewall Resort
This Triathlon includes 1000 meter swim, 26 mile bike and 4 mile
run. This is a Set Up Events Triathlon circuit new event. The event
benefits the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce.

Stonewall Jackson Heritage Arts and Crafts Jubilee
- August 29 to September 1, 2008
On the Grounds Of WVU Jackson's Mill
Directions: I-79 to Exit 99, then take US 33 West into Weston,

turn left, and follow the signs.
Daily admission and seasonal passes available; Hours vary by day
Visit the largest juried arts and crafts show in the state, while
you step back in time and experience some of the marvelous heritage
crafter's demonstrate their work and watch them show their wares.
Listen to the sweet sounds of live heritage music performances,
sip on an ice cold Sarsaparilla, watch the hand blown glass demonstrations,
witness what life was like in the earlier years. Stroll through
Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson's childhood home, tour the original grist
mill, learn about the history of our country through the eyes of
living history reenactors.

Jane Lew Volunteer Firemen's Arts and Crafts Festival

Free Admission: Hours are 10:00 A. M. To 7:00 P.M.

the Jane Lew Firehouse on left.
Over 200 talented crafter's gather to exhibit their works. The
crafter's works utilize glass, wood, leather, dolls dried &
silk flowers, baskets, ceramics, soaps, candles, painting, candy,
honey, jams & jellies and much more. Food vendors are also available.
All proceeds go to the Jane Lew Fire Department.

"School Of Piece"- National Civil War Artillery
Association - April 2009

This artillery Qualification and Certification by the National
Civil War Artillery Association will provide instruction for the
Civil War reenactors in artillery drill, focusing on a high level

Carp Fishing Tournament - June
2009
Come and enter this contest which is offering cash prizes in Adult
and Junior class. Prizes will be rewarded to the "Biggest"
fish in each class in terms of weight. Other measurements may be
